Welcome to The Glasgow School of Art's Degree Show 2013 online,
a preview of the annual exhibition of work by final year
undergraduate and postgraduate students from the schools of
Architecture, Design and Fine Art. The Glasgow School of Art is an
international creative community, one of Europe's leading higher
education institutions for visual disciplines.
Each year some 300 final year undergraduate and postgraduate
students challenge and delight us with their insight, rigour and
innovation. Over 20,000 visitors join us annually for the Degree
Show - one of the UK's largest. Here in our virtual exhibition
space, and via Flickr and Vimeo, you can experience a taste of just
some of the work on show this year from across our specialisms of
fine art, design and architecture.
This year the Degree Show takes place across two campuses - the
School of Design Degree Show this year is housed in the Skypark
campus at Finnieston, 15 minutes' walk from the Garnethill campus
on Renfrew Street which features the Fine Art and Architecture
shows. Skypark houses the design show whilst the new building,
designed by Steven Holl Architects, is constructed opposite the
Mackintosh Building (due to open in September 2013). The
Master of Fine Art show, meanwhile, takes place from 6 June at a
third location, the Glue Factory, also a short walk from
Garnethill.
I do hope you'll join us at all the venues in person to
experience, in context, the full breadth of what the GSA Degree
Show has to offer. You will not be disappointed.
