Programme Overview

This is a course consisting of figurative and abstract art with a music-based theme. Synaesthesia is an experience some people have where they have unusual sensory experiences, for example ‘seeing’ sounds.  Students will explore the connection between senses in art, using music as a starting point and developing a response to this through drawing and painting. Using different exercises such as working with a metronome, working from a musician model and working from musical narrative such as opera. Observational skills and personalised responses within varied mark making will be developed. This course is suitable for beginners who wish to cover the fundamentals of painting and drawing, as well as more advanced artists.
