Programme Overview

This five-day course will introduce you to techniques of repurposing textiles and clothing into new garments. Learn how to deconstruct used shirts and remake them into improvisational patchwork pieces to be used as the basis of your garment. Techniques/skills that will be learned will include pattern adaptation/development, industrial sewing machine operation, improvisational patchwork techniques, garment construction, garment fitting, quilting techniques. Outcome: Students will complete a patchwork quilted jacket/gilet. This course is suitable for students who have an understanding and have operated a sewing machine before and the basics of sewing
