The Royal is the halls of residence site available to students at our Forres campus in the Highlands of Scotland. Recently renovated, it is a beautiful large Victorian building situated within five minutes’ walking distance from Forres town centre and three miles north of campus.

The site has space for 30 residents across three floors, with two large common rooms for socialising, working with fellow students and plenty of space for private study. Students are housed in individual bedrooms, five to a wing and two wings to a floor, where students will share kitchens, common rooms and bathrooms.

Knockomie

Knockomie Inn, Grantown Rd, Forres, IV36 2SG

Knockomie is available to students attending the Altyre (Forres) Highlands and Islands Campus and offers a unique living experience with luxurious interiors and walls steeped in Scottish history.  The building is a former high end hotel and was built in 1821 with scenic views and a large garden area, perfect for the spring and summer months.  Knockomie is within walking distance of Forres Railway station, providing fantastic links to Inverness and beyond. The town centre is also within walking distance of Knockomie and only 2 miles from the GSA Forres campus (accessed by provided GSA transport).

The site has space for 17 residents across two floors, with various lounge and seating areas and a dining space, perfect for socialising and relaxing after a day in the studio.  There is a dry kitchen located on site where breakfast and dinner is provided and included within the cost of the accommodation.

Apartments in Forres

We also have a range of one and two bedroom apartments available to students attending our Forres campus in the Highlands of Scotland. These are located around Forres town centre, three miles north of the campus, offering space for up to 20 residents across 11 locations, either living alone or with one other student.

Price per week for 2024/25

• Single Flat/Apartment OR Two Bedroom Flat/Apartment Share: ranges from £110-£181.50pp depending on flat selected
