The Glasgow School of Art (GSA) has a unique studio culture amongst art schools and we offer a range of opportunities for prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students to visit us throughout the year, online and in person, to get an idea of what that looks and feels like to study here.

Whether you're unsure about whether art school is for you, or you're looking at continuing your practice with us GSA Open is our year-wide programme of exhibitions, open days, community events, lectures, and drop-in sessions.

Open House is the GSA's Open Day event, where prospective students can find out more about studying at The Glasgow School of Art. The on campus programme takes place in Glasgow on 30 & 31 October and is predominantly aimed at those interested in undergraduate study. A series of digital events will also accompany the programme.

Events are split according to activity - Programme and How to Apply Talks; Exhibitions and Tours; Workshops and Demonstrations.

New undergraduate and postgraduate students are invited to apply for our purpose built halls of residence, conveniently located within a five minute walk from the Glasgow School of Art's main campus. Close to amenities and well connected to public transport, our halls offer a secure and fully furnished living space designed to make your transition to studying in Glasgow as comfortable and stress free as possible.

 In addition to Glasgow, we offer accommodation for students studying at our Highlands and Islands campus in Forres. This option provides convenient and comfortable housing, designed to support your studies in a beautiful and unique part of Scotland.

 Updated pricing and accommodation guides for the following academic year are available from February each year.  Applications for the GSA accommodation open annually in March. If you receive an offer from the GSA, you will automatically receive an email from our accommodation office with detailed instructions on how to apply online when applications go live.

‍Summer Accommodation

From June to September, Blythswood House operates as a summer hostel, welcoming students, interns, long-term visitors, and groups to Glasgow. Our spacious single-occupancy bedrooms feature queen-sized beds, ensuite facilities, and access to shared kitchens and communal spaces, offering a comfortable stay in the heart of the city.
