Environment and Social Justice Framework
In December 2022 the Board of Governors at The Glasgow School of Art approved an Environmental and Social Justice Framework for the School. The framework outlines our ambitions and demonstrates our commitment tofostering a more sustainable and equitable future for the GSA and beyond. It acts as a road map for improvements and change in the areas of environmental and social justice, recognising that addressing these issues requires collective commitment and action.
The framework combines aims, ambitions and actions under 6 interconnected key pillars which underline our commitment and approach:
- Pillar 1 An Efficient, Robust and Resilient Estate
- Pillar 2 Circular Campus
- Pillar 3 A Transformed Curriculum
- Pillar 4 Working for Climate Justice
- Pillar 5 Creating a Fair and Just Institution
- Pillar 6 Our People
The Framework and associated actions report to the School's Environment and Social Justice Committee who meet regularly throughout the year to track progress and actions. You can read the full Environment and Social Just framework here.
The GSA also has a dedicated Sustainability Coordinator, responsible for supporting environmentally and socially conscious student and staff projects at the GSA. You can read more about GSA Sustainability on their blog.
