Programme overview
The Master of Architectural Studies (MAS) in Creative Urban Practices is a one-year specialist programme exploring the theories and practices of space, place, and urbanism through an interdisciplinary lens. Students develop critical and creative approaches to contemporary cities, combining artistic practice, spatial research, and urban design thinking. Through studio-based inquiry, students analyse and represent urban spaces, developing propositions that address the political, cultural, and ecological dimensions of place. The programme fosters collaboration, debate, and experimentation within the GSA’s creative community, encouraging speculative and socially engaged practice. Graduates emerge with the skills and critical insight to shape innovative, context-sensitive urban environments through research, design, and creative practice. All degree programmes are validated by the University of Glasgow.
